Vintage Cafe RIP?

21st and L? I’ve never even heard of this place. Is it invisible?

Unfortunately, it almost was. It was next door to Hashi on L Street, but there was no signage outside (I’d heard that the building owner wouldn’t allow a sign, but that’s unconfirmed). The guys from Etc. turned me on to it or I probably never would have known it was there either.
A small coffee was $1 and sandwiches started as low as $3.50. They also had pizza and a heck of a good steak sandwich.

I’ll miss it too–they didn’t stay open very late but the coffee was good, the prices reasonable and the staff really nice. Even though it was a brand-new building it seemed like they had been there for years. I think they shared the kitchen with Stonegrill/Hashi, and kind of closed once but reopened. I’ll miss them, hopefully the people involved open another cafe somewhere nearby–and keep it open later!
