ginger apple sauce recipe
Posted on May 4, 2010 – 5:36 PM | by becklerHere’s the delicious apple sauce recipe I promised in my article on cooking classes. This is a superb accompaniment to some pan-fried pork chops. This sauce will make your mouth go crazy.

Ingredients
5 Pippin or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
¼ cup sugar
juice and zest of one lemon
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon peeled and grated ginger
pinch of cayenne
Directions
Place the apples, sugar, lemon juice, zest, and sake in a saucepan. Heat it not quite to the boiling point.
Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook until the apples are tender, about 15 minutes.
Be careful not to scorch the apples.
Stir in the ginger and cayenne.
