I grabbed a copy of the latest MM when I arrived at the Hart Center to hand to anyone who asked me what “janky” meant. The Bee reporter did, so I handed him the issue and referred him to the article.
The extra-funny part is that he placed me on opposite ends of the spectrum from the other person quoted, Margaret Piner of the Midtown Neighborhood Association, in a sort of “midtown weirdos vs. old fuddy-duddies” face-off. But I am also a member of the MNA board, and in fact we are both weird old midtown fuddy-duddies. We’re both pretty sick of Second Saturday in its current form, but greatly value living in a neighborhood with so much to offer in terms of walkability, scenic beauty and cultural amenities, not to mention jankiness.
